A Commitment from Our Co-Founder

LESSAT-Africa was founded on a simple belief: when young people gain practical skills and real opportunities, they can transform their lives and strengthen their communities. Our commitment is to prepare Liberia’s next generation for work through modern Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) aligned with industry needs in construction, robotics, renewable energy, healthcare, and environmental management.

We expand access for those often left behind. Through small project assistance grants, we support school repairs, training center upgrades, and improved learning environments in rural communities and provide scholarships, textbooks, mentorship, mental health support, and career guidance so that financial and social barriers do not limit capable students.

With over 9,000 learners reached, LESSAT-Africa helps close gaps in teacher capacity and education infrastructure. Our outreach tools, including mobile cinema, STEM innovation exhibitions, community engagement, and rural trail bridge construction, connect remote communities to education and opportunity.

Equity is central to our work. We prioritize girls, rural youth, and disadvantaged learners, creating pathways into technical skills, employment, and entrepreneurship.

This work is bigger than one organization. With strong partnerships, we can improve learning environments, and prepare a generation of skilled professionals, innovators, and community leaders.

Together, we can reduce youth unemployment, and build a stronger future for Liberia.

Why stem-Driven tvet education?

Lessat-africa-ROBOTIC

If Liberia is to address poverty, and unemployment, the most effective starting point is education that leads to real work. Education builds the knowledge, practical skills,  and contribute to national development.

Yet access alone is not enough. Many learners face poor infrastructure, limited teaching capacity, and schooling that is not linked to employment, leaving families trapped in economic hardship.

STEM-driven Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) closes this gap by integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with hands-on training for high-demand sectors such as construction, healthcare support, renewable energy, agriculture, and environmental management. Skilled workforce essential for inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

how we do it?
