Education remains one of the strongest tools for personal growth and national progress. It supports economic development, encourages innovation, and strengthens social and emotional well-being across communities. Yet in Liberia, many women still face steep barriers to higher education.
Current data reflects shows. Women are less likely than men to advance to secondary school, with enrollment at 42 percent compared to 50 percent for men. The difference continues at the post-secondary level, where only 17 percent of women enroll, compared to 22 percent of men. These challenges are more in rural and low-income communities, where poverty, early marriage, teenage pregnancy, gender bias, and the lasting effects of conflict continue to limit opportunity.

Our Commitment at LESSAT Africa

LESSAT Africa was founded to confront these inequalities with practical, people-centered solutions. One such effort is the STEM-DRIVEN TVET Higher Education Scholarship for Liberian Women, a program designed to support women who are ready to return to education and shape a better future for themselves and their communities.
